AWARDS AND SUCCSESS

these three bands have had a lot of success in the past and they certainly will in the future with the Mnet awards coming soon. but for now lets talk about their past success.

1-EXO

Exo's first album XOXO (2013), which contained the breakthrough hit "Growl", was a critical and commercial success, winning both Disk Daesang at the 28th Golden Disk Awards and Album of the Year at the 15th Mnet Asian Music Awards. It sold over one million copies, making Exo the best-selling Korean artist in twelve years. other albums and EPs continued with strong sales, and Exo were ranked the most influential celebrity by Forbes Korea Power Celebrity for the years 2014 and 2015. They have been named "the biggest boyband in the world" by media outlets. Exo have been recipients of numerous awards from South Korea and mainland China. On June 14, 2013, over a year after their official debut, the band received their first win on the South Korean music program Music Bank with their single “Wolf." Since then, Exo has gone on to win over 100 music program awards, only the second artist to do so, after Girls' Generation (also from the same company). they have also won not one, not two but five daesangs (huge award). "The War", their newest album, has managed to hit No.1 on the iTunes Albums Chart in 41 countries, which is the highest number ever for a K-pop artist. Not only is this an impressive feat, EXO also ranked at No.1 on the iTunes Worldwide Chart, as well as ranking highly in countries such as the US (No.2), UK (No.2), and Australia (No.3), giving the boys their best performance on the charts yet.

Their second full album peaked at #26 on the Billboard 200, which marked the highest chart ranking for a K-pop album ever. In their native South Korea, 'Wings' became the best selling album in the Gaon Album Chart history at the time. the group was also awarded a daesang last year. The group's next release, Love Yourself: Her (2017), reached #1 on iTunes in over 73 countries and debuted at #7 on the Billboard 200, marking the highest rank for an Asian artist in history. The album sold over 1.2 million copies in its first month, reclaiming its title as the best selling album in the chart's history and becoming the biggest selling Korean album by a month in 16 years, coming second to G.o.d's album in 2001. BTS's achievements have also led the group to be ranked #5 on Forbes Korea Power Celebrity list for 2017, a list ranking South Korea's most powerful and influential celebrities.

3-GOT7

Got7 debuted in January 2014 with the release of their first EP Got It?, which peaked at number two on the Gaon Album Chart and number one on Billboard's World Albums Chart. In late 2014 Got7 signed with 'Sony Music Entertainment Japan' and ventured into the Japanese market to release their debut Japanese-language single "Around the World".
